Welcome to North Devon Steam Team, part of the Gleam & Steam Group. By accessing or using our website gleamandsteam.co.uk and booking our laundry and ironing services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use our services.
1. Who We Are
North Devon Steam Team provides residential laundry and ironing services with free collection and delivery across North Devon, including Bideford, Barnstaple, and Westward Ho!.
This website is operated by the Gleam & Steam Group. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to North Devon Steam Team.
2. Services Offered
We provide the following services:

Wash, dry, and fold

Ironing only
-
Combined wash and iron
-
Pickup and delivery services
-
Optional premium turnaround (e.g. next-day)
All services are offered on a domestic (non-commercial) basis and are subject to availability.
3. Booking and Quotations

Bookings can be made via our website using our form or quote request system.

Quotes are non-binding until confirmed by both parties via email or phone.

We reserve the right to adjust quotes based on inspection of items on collection.
4. Pricing and Payment

Prices are based on weight (per kg) or per item, as specified on our website.

Optional surcharges (e.g. for next-day service) may apply and will be clearly stated.

Payment is required upon completion of service or via online invoice before delivery, unless otherwise agreed.
We reserve the right to amend pricing with prior notice.
5. Collection & Delivery

We offer free local collection and delivery within our service areas.

Missed collections without notice may incur a £5 fee.

If you’re not home at the agreed time, items must be left in a safe place or rescheduled in advance.
6. Customer Responsibilities

Ensure items are labelled and suitable for washing or ironing.

Remove any valuables or items from pockets (we are not responsible for damage caused by retained objects).

Separate whites and colours if colour transfer is a concern.
7. Damage or Loss Policy
We take great care with your garments, but:

Stain removal is not guaranteed.

We are not liable for damage caused by manufacturer defects, wear and tear, or unlabelled delicate fabrics.

In the rare case of confirmed loss or damage, our liability is limited to £20 per item, or a maximum of £100 per order, whichever is less.
8. Cancellations

Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

Same-day cancellations may incur a £5 charge to cover time and travel.
9. Refusal of Service
We reserve the right to refuse service for:

Excessively soiled or hazardous items

Commercial loads beyond our capacity

Customers who violate these terms or behave abusively
10. Changes to Services or Terms
We may update or modify our services, pricing, or these terms at any time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Liability Disclaimer
We do our best to provide a timely and high-quality service, but we are not liable for:

Delays due to weather, illness, or circumstances beyond our control

Minor cosmetic changes to clothing caused by heat or washing processes

Indirect or consequential loss from service delays
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled under UK jurisdiction.
